Monday's {Mini} Family Adventure ~ Dance Party Dinner Prep

Inspired by one of Mama Scout's Monday Missions to Start an Adventure Fund ~ a fun way to bring magic into our week. We save up our loose change for seven days and turn it into a fun family adventure to celebrate Mondays!

Preparing for dinner is always one of those times of the day when I wish I had a few extra hands and something special to keep you occupied.  So today, when we went scouring through the Dollar Store to find a fun family treat to purchase with our spare change from the week, you spotted a CD and quickly picked it up.  I thought that was a perfect idea! You LOVE music.  You love to dance, you love to do hand and arm movements, and it always brings a smile to your face.

When we got home it was just about time to start dinner, so I figured that was the ideal time to play some silly songs for us to enjoy.  I started boiling the water for eggs and prepping the other side dishes, while you and Daddy bounced to the music.  I stopped every now and then to join in, too!  It was so nice to see you enjoying the evening hours (when you tend to get a bit cranky ~ especially without a nap today!).  Dance parties can be so much fun when you're trying to unwind from a long day.  It was well worth the couple of dollars that we spent on a new CD for your collection!

i realized that if i made a dinner that was all cooked in the oven, i could have 30 minutes to do something creative! not more stove top dinners for us!
